First meeting for the project:

Europe Mobility: raising the quantity and quality of work
placements abroad

Place:  Italy

Date: 20 – 24.11.08

First meeting and for now last meeting that will take place in 2008 began as usual with  meeting our partners. This EU project gathered people and organizations from six European countries: Netherlands, Italy, Poland, Belgium, Germany and Spain.

The aim and main objective of the project is to stimulate both quantity and quality of mobility in VET, by promoting awareness on the as well as on the tools, methodologies and solutions available. The project is based on the results of the MoVe-iT research which
will be transferred to the wide audience of VET professionals, students and enterprises involved, or potentially involved, in mobility.

Today we have met in person for the first time, before we were able to communicate only remotely – but it is how the contemporary world functions. The project assumes that all partners will cooperate for the next two years and meet on multiple occasions, as every one has to host at least one meeting.
It will take some travelling around Europe – but after all it all goes about mobility!

The host of the meeting, and chief organization of the project quickly showed us that the project will be one of the most demanding and complex we’ve ever had chance to take part in.
Task and aims of the project are many and diverse – I will just name some of them here:

  1. creating a web  portal
  2. newsletter
  3. organizing video contest
  4. developing disseminations plans for each country
  5. organize mobility fairs

and most importantly – create a new guide book for (VET) internships abroad, that would make It easier for interested people to take the chances EU creates for them

On the first meeting we had gained access to special interned powered e-ware platform, that will be a virtual meeting place for all the partners. It allows to upload and download all the materials that all the partners wish and are obliged to put there. It is great solution for maintaining clear and simple remote communication between all the involved organizations.

First meeting ended, and we left Italy loaded with things to do in the nearest future. The schedule that organizers introduced is very tight so there is no time to laze around.
We will meet again in Jun 2009.
